‘Indian Panorama’ section of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2012 is calling for entries. All entries must have been certified by the Central Board of Film Certification between 1st September, 2011 and 31 August, 2012.
10 September, 2012 is the last date of submitting applications.
A total of 26 feature films and 21 non-feature films will be selected to be screened during IFFI 2012.The 43rd edition of the festival is to be held from 20th to 30th November, 2012.

The Public Service Broadcasting Trust (PSBT) is inviting proposals for documentary films from independent filmmakers for their project with the Public Diplomacy Division, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), and Government of India.
The PSBT needs clarity in the proposals that the films will project a nuanced and positive image of contemporary India’s soft power to international audiences: Business Entrepreneurs/ Innovators, Scientific India, Compassionate India and Changing Face of India.
After successful screenings at several festivals across the globe, “Supermen of Malegaon” is slated for its theatrical release in India on June 29, 2012.
“Supermen of Malegaon” is a documentary that captures a motley bunch of cinema fanatics in Malegaon, Maharashtra who remake Bollywood and Hollywood films on miniscule budgets, which they shoot and star in, and screen for their local audience in Malegaon. This time, they take on the challenge of making Superman. The film follows them on this journey-at times funny, tragic and contemplative.
The deadline for submission of entries is August 31, 2012.
The Festival is organized by the IFFI Secretariat for the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India in collaboration with the State Government of Goa.

Taking place in New Delhi, the 9th JEEVIKA: Asia Livelihood Documentary Festival is a non-profit film showcase promoting films that put livelihood on the live wire!
Organised by the Centre for Civil Society, the documentary festival is a part of the larger Livelihood Freedom Campaign ‘JEEVIKA’ which helps develop public policy measures to clear the path for free enterprise.
Rat Race, a documentary on Mumbai rat catchers releasing on 20th April,2012, in Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore.
The Rat Race is the true story that unravels at midnight, as the rest of the city sleeps; young boys armed with torches and sticks setting out every night bring back the bodies of 30 dead rats to earn a daily living.
Entries are invited for the Ladakh International Film Festival which will take place in Leh on 15th, 16th and 17th June, 2012.
Last date for submission of films is 1st April, 2012.
Films will be selected for the International, Indian and competetion sections.

Commercial Release of Documentary Films
Nandan is the film theatre complex run by the Govt of West Bengal.They have agreed in principle to dedicate Nandan II (a 200 seater hall) for commercial release of documentaries from March 2012 onwards.The film-maker has to write to the CEO, Nandan, Mr Yadav Mondol expressing interest that she/he wants the said film to be commercially released there.This must be accompanied by a censor certificate, the dvd and the consent letter of the producer/copyright holder.

YouTube is launching a film festival that will play out online and ultimately send 10 finalists to the Venice Film Festival.
The Google Inc.-owned video site announced Thursday that Your Film Festival will take submissions of short films up to 15 minutes in length between Feb. 2 and March 31. Fifty semi-finalists will be selected by Scott Free Productions, Ridley and Tony Scott's production company.
